Good Evening Parents,
If you haven't done so already, please turn in your living museum forms so that reception can make sure that you are VIPS cleared and have your visitor passes ready for our living Museum on Wednesday. We are wrapping up our project in class, and the kids are so excited to share their biography research projects with you all! I am extremely proud of all the hard work that they have put into research, collecting facts, writing their biography paper, and typing up their timelines! We can't wait for you to see the finished products!
As a reminder, the Living Museum will take place on March 7th from
8:30 - 9:15 A.M. Rather than a formal presentation style, the students will present their biographies as you walk to their stations. Feel free to arrive and leave any time within that hour. You are more than welcome to take pictures with your children and/or record their presentation during this time. Please remember to have your children come dressed in their Living Museum costumes. If they would like to change out of it, please leave a change of clothes in their lockers.
Below is an updated school wide grading policy that has been established by the school administration.
After review of inconsistencies in our current policy for grading re-takes, the following change has been implemented for all grade levels:
When students have not been successful in meeting at least minimum standard on formal classroom assessments such as weekly, end of unit and cumulative assessments, students can re-take the assessment for a higher grade, up to 70%. The re-take must be administered and completed in class under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Lastly, our upcoming 2nd and 4th Grade art show is coming up, and Mrs. Jenkins wanted to make sure that you are aware of this event. A formal invitation will be sent out in the Tuesday folders closer to the art show date. The art show will take place on Thursday May 10th from 5:30-7PM at Roberts Elementary. Please plan on joining us as we celebrate your children's artistic success.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me! Thank you in advance for all of your help!
Sincerely,
Cathy Reyes
